I left my desk job of over 40 years in 2000. I opted to take up alpaca farming as a second career because I wanted work that would keep me fit and healthy, as well as being something I would enjoy and profit from. Forty years of typing and filing had left me feeling old and achy. Now ten years into raising alpacas, I am leaner, fitter, and more energetic than I've been since my teens, and I look forward to every day as a new opportunity to live life fully. And my leisure time is spent spinning or knitting alpaca items for myself, my family, or for resale. Absolutely! I left my desk job of over 40 years in 2000.
